The Meaning Behind the Logo: A Visual Reflection of IFS Therapy in Rochester, NH

Find Compassion Within Therapy logo for IFS therapist Rochester NH

When I created the logo for my practice as a therapist in Rochester, NH, I wanted more than just a symbol; I wanted an image that truly reflected the heart of the work I do through Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. Every part of the logo was chosen with intention, rooted in the values of wholeness, compassion, and the beautiful complexity of being human.

The Tree: Representing the Whole Person

At the center of the logo is a golden tree. This tree represents the whole person: your internal system made up of many parts. Just like a tree has roots, branches, and leaves, your inner world is made up of various aspects of yourself, each playing an important role in your story. Trees are resilient, flexible, and grounded: qualities that are mirrored in the IFS healing process.

The trunk of the tree symbolizes your strength, your growth, and your capacity to heal. It is rooted in your Self, the calm, compassionate, curious core that IFS believes is within each person.

The Hands and Heart: The Power of Self

Cradled at the center of the tree are two golden hands, holding a heart. These hands represent your Self-energy, gently leading your internal system with compassion and clarity. The heart in the middle is a symbol of the deep care and nonjudgmental presence that IFS teaches us to extend to every part of who we are.

In IFS therapy, we don’t push away the parts of us that overwhelm us or act out. Instead, we turn toward them, with the same tenderness these hands show, so they can finally be seen, heard, and healed.

The Leaves: All Parts Are Welcome

The leaves on the tree are made up of many golden hearts. Each of these hearts represents a part of you: some protective, some playful, some deeply wounded. Every one of these parts contributes to your richness, depth, and resilience.  When held in compassion, these parts transform into trusted allies.

In this image, they are not hidden or separated, they’re integrated and celebrated. This is the goal of IFS therapy: to help you bring all of your parts into a harmonious internal system led by Self.

The Phrase: Find Compassion Within

Beneath the image is the phrase: Find Compassion Within. This is the heart of the work I do as an IFS therapist in Rochester, NH. The phrase is both an invitation and a truth: that the compassion, clarity, and calm you are searching for already live inside you.

Most of us have learned to direct compassion outward, toward family, friends, and even strangers, while being harsh or critical towards ourselves. IFS gently guides you back to your own inner world, helping you shine that same warmth inward.

Finding compassion within isn’t about ignoring your pain or condoning harmful behaviors.  It’s about recognizing the positive intention of all parts, and creating an internal space where all parts of you are welcomed, understood, and given the care that they need.

A Logo That Reflects the Journey

This logo is more than a brand, it’s a mirror of the healing process.  Whether you are just beginning to explore IFS or are deep into the work, this image serves as a reminder: you are not broken; you are beautifully complex; and you already carry the resources you need to heal.

If you’re ready to begin or deepen your journey with an IFS therapist in Rochester, NH, I’d love to connect with you.
